I co-curated Come Dance with Us and Our Dead in the Rainbows (if it makes you feel good) with Christopher M Tandy & Cait McCormack for SPRING/BREAK Art Show NY, 2023. We each invited another artist to exhibit work- Caitlin Rose Sweet, Rochelle Voyles and Vincent Tiley.

At the last minute we were assigned a space that had cabinets at eye level that we couldn’t drill into, so we flipped our show concept around and turned the cupboards into altars for artists, writers and activists who are no longer with us physically. CM Tandy and I chose queer ghosts to honor : Ms Colombia, David Wojnarowicz, Audre Lorde, Leslie Feinberg, Minnie Bruce Pratt, Marsha P Johnson, Silvia Rivera, Cookie Muehler and an unamed protestor from the 1966 Compton’s Cafeteria Riot in San Francisco. I printed the photos, Tandy made drawings on them and we lit them together. We invited the community in to celebrate them with us. Folks came in and remembered, cried and expressed joyful gratitude. This last minute challenge turned into the anchor of our booth.
